October 31 2024 Aircraft Steel Mount Re-Install Aircraft Update
This morning, we had a meeting of the NADEP Engineer Mazar Sefidan, Aerospace Engineer, SLAP/SLEP Lead, H-60 Fleet Support Team Fleet Readiness Center East, who designed the steel mount to hold the aircraft on the stanchion along with the Todd Devermann, Burch Construction Superintendent and SH-60F Helicopter on a Stick Project Manager CAPT Bill Personius, USN (Ret.) to review the drawings, aircraft mount position on the aircraft and fit on the stanchion at the front gate.
The steel plate will be lifted using a forklift with extended forks under the aircraft where the fasteners can be affixed and tightened down. The tube sticking up fits into the Rast Hole in the underside of the aircraft into a bushing fitted in the top part of the RAST hole on the inside. This shaft is to keep the aircraft from moving fore and aft, left or right on the actual steel mount which will have 120 fasteners holding the plate to the bottom of the airframe.
The aircraft steel mount plate should be finished installed tomorrow Friday November 1, 2024.
