May 31, 2024 Steel Alum Mounting Plate Update

The FRCSouthwest Repair Department Artisans including Adrian Chavez and SH-60 Lead Engineer Maziar Sefidan, are busy making the steel/alum attachment mount for the Navy SH-60F Helicopter on a Stick Project to be installed at the Vice Admiral Stockdale Main Gate at NAS North Island. This piece of steel which they are using a magnetic drill on, has to be drilled 120 times for the individual fasteners which will go through it, the alum shim , through the aircraft bottom and framework and be attached on the inside with nuts. This piece of A-36 steel is 1 inch thick and 62 inches by 48 inches……It is not light…..mgb
