17 October 2023 Aircraft Move into Midway Hangar 805 Update

In preparation to finish the tail and doghouse repainting beginning Wednesday October 18, 2023, the Midway crew moved the 60F from its outside parking position to an inside position in Hangar 805 next to the Midway A-1H which is undergoing restoration. The move required it to be pulled out of the facility and down the perimeter road toward the ordinance wharf, making a left turn into the gate on the Western end of Hangar 805 with a follow on 90 degree turn to move through the hangar doors squeezing into a spot next/to the left of the A-1. The tail rotor was too tall for the 15ft door so one of the team had to adjust/move the tail rotor so it would fit through the hangar door. All safe and sound now.  Just before the move, the USS Lincoln (CV-72) slid by Hangar 805 in the fog, under way this morning.
